Operation Julie's Smile Hop

Hello All!

I am so glad that you joined us on this amazing blog hop for Operation Julie’s Smile. If you came here from my friend and creative genius... Geny's blog, then you are in the right spot. If not, you may want to start from the beginning at the Sweet Stamp Shop’s blog and take your time. You have ALL WEEKEND to hop with us and win prizes!

I"m going to dive right into my project...

In honor of Julie I made some pretty cute earrings... if
I do say so myself...

I used the Sweet Stamp Shop

Sweet Tooth set

You can find it HERE at the SSS shop.

Want to make some earrings with your stamps?

It's soooo easy!

You'll need...

Shrinky Dinks **Clear** sheets
(you know... the stuff that shrinks when you bake it)
You can find it at your local craft store.

Stazon Ink Pad

Stamp Set of your choice
(Like the new Halloween set from SSS!)

Scissors

Hole Punch (regular school size)

Brown paper bag piece

Earring jewelry findings
(you can find these at your local
craft store too!)

Here is the basic idea...

1. Pre-heat your oven to 325
2. Stamp your image onto the shrinky sheet
3. Cut out your images and be sure to leave room for
your hole punch!
4. Punch a hole where you want
5. Place a cut sheet of brown paper bag on a cookie sheet
6. Place the pieces ink side up and put them in the oven
7. The shrinking takes about 2-3 minutes... but, I like to
watch it... after it shrinks and lays flat... take them out.
8. Grab the paper bag (with mits... it's hot!) and place it on
a flat surface. (do this quickly!)
9. Place a book on top of the pieces to keep them flat as they
cool off...
10. About 2 minutes later ... you're done!

11. Use them for earrings or book marks or
embellishments... or anything!

See what else I made..

Melvin and Vernie Halloween Earrings!

So Cute!

I hope you enjoyed your stop here on the hop!
The next stop is my good friend and amazing crafter... Savannah's blog.

Make sure you leave a comment here before you go so that you can have a chance at the amazing prizes up for grabs and if you can, please make a donation so we can help bring back a new smile for our friend.

Also... as a *BONUS* I have a couple earrings and cards I'd
LOVE to send to some commenters.... leave a comment with
your name and how to contact you... and you just might
win one of these babies...

Happy Hopping!

Thanks for donating!

Hugs!

show off just one *little* part of this set.

Oh, did I mention that this set is called

'Thanksgiving Owl-fits'

Yep... here's my card

And the inside... where the pie is...

Whenever I sit down to draw out stamps for new sets...
I always think like a stamper... cause, that's what I am!

When I think like a stamper... I consider....

How versatile is this set? Can parts and pieces be used
for different seasons and cards?

This set is a great example of a holiday set
that you'll reach for over and over. Here at SSS, we're
happy to give you inspiration and show
you all the different ways you can use the stamps...
to get the biggest bang for your buck!

So stay tuned this month (and beyond) to be
inspired to look at your sets with 'new' eyes
considering... *how* you can use it beyond it's
original intention.

Now your off to the amazingly talented (truly)

It's hard to be before Leigh Ann... she's so creative!

Be ready to have your socks blown off!

Watchin TV Sneak Peek

Hey All!

Nicole here!

I've got something really fun and cute to share with you
today! And I think it's a really great way to peek the release...

You should have found your way here from

Sweet Stamp Shop Blog
Lindsay
Julie Ranae
Savannah
Aga
-- you came from here  Geny -- you came from here
Nicole
Leigh Ann

Last Mother's day I made my Mom a bag
for work...

My disclaimer here is:
 I am not a sewer.

I like to play with fabric and my sewing machine...

But. I am NO sewer!

So, if you're a sewer please forgive my
messy and probably totally wrong sewing techniques!

I decided to make some re-usable sandwich bags to go
with her work bag for her birthday (tomorrow)

What are re-usable sandwich bags, you ask?

Well, they look something like this:

Basically, they are re-usable zip-lock bags!

Wanna learn how to make them?

Here we go!

You'll need:

Sewing machine (or thread and needle)
Velcro
Fabric (from your 'extra' pile)
Vinyl (the thinnest you can buy! -- or any water resistant type fabric)

 Here's how...

First you'll wanna cut your fabric any size you like
*on the seam* meaning... you know where you fabric
folds over when you buy it? Keep it folded and cut a piece
with the fold... like so...

***Cut your piece of vinyl or plastic to match***

Now is the time you'll wanna cut and add all the
'extras' on the front. Like stamping an image!

Ugh, I had to darken the lines with my sharpie
b/c my brown stazon is drying up. (and of course, it's
the *one* refill I don't have!)

Isn't that little TV the cutest?!?

Ok, set aside that piece...we'll be right back to it!

Now you'll wanna take the two edges from the
long piece (without the plastic) and hem

Like so...

Quickly grab your TV piece and run it through
(no one will see this so no worries about being messy!)

See here:

Now is the ONLY tricky part in this whole thing...
and it's not *that* tricky!

Take your plastic and a cut piece of velcro (cut a *little* smaller
than the width of your piece) and your base fabric... and
on the *wrong* side sew them together at the hem line...

like this:

Do the same thing to the other side with the
different piece of velcro.

Then bring the two right sides together and sew
down each side. (making the hem as big or as small as you
feel comfortable.)

Looks messy! Don't worry... we'll fix !

Clear up the edges and cut off all the loose ends!

Then turn it inside out add some buttons or flowers... or
just leave it as is.... and you'll have

One Cute Re-uable Sandwich Bag!

That brown one would be perfect for
pretzel sticks!

Anyway!! Hope you *loved* our release so far!

Now you're off to Leigh Ann and all her creative genius

Also, don't forget to comment along the way for
a chance to win this set. *and* you can still enter to
win from yesterdays hop too! Winners will be announced
sometime after the release. (to give everyone plenty of time to enter!)

You can also get a bonus entry by sharing our release with
your friends and letting us know that you did on our
facebook wall. HERE

Thanks for stopping by!
