February Market Street Release, Already!?!!

Time literally flies by...

It feels like I was 'just' posting last months stamp release projects... yikes.

I have been so busy lately,
I cant keep everything straight!

Between throwing my bff's baby shower (this Saturday) and painting the baby room... and... well, regular life... I haven't had time to post things like I have been wanting to... and lets be real, most of my crafty time lately has been for the shower... and my bff frequents my blog... so I couldn't post much...

BUT, a Market Street Release party gives me a great excuse to finally make some time to say hi again!

How do you like my new blog design... I did it myself.... kinda.... with some help from 'Blog in a Box'... Anywho, isn't it spiffy! It actually looks like I might know a little something about something... (doubtful!)

So, who's ready to see a little something-something new from Market Street?

Before I show you... here is my disclaimer....

If you are a frequent visitor to my blog you know that I love everything 'detail' ... and from this love, I tend to look in the less obvious places for inspiration. Like, the 'extras' in a stamp set. I love all the little 'extras' Market Street throws into their stamp sets. Between the sentiments and the little embellishments... card possibilities are endless.

So, don't be surprised if this release you see some of my cards focusing on the 'extras' :)

I used my favorite Copic airbrushing machine on this little beauty!

Ohhh, what about this little card using my favorite new vintage background??

And the bow unties to reveal the 'inside' of the card... like a secret door!

Ok, are you ready for the cutest...
I mean kaaaa-uuutest...
card I have made in a great long while...

Prepare yourself...

to be impressed...

Pretty Cute, right?!?

I mean the picture clearly doesn't do justice... (story of my life)

But, trust me... it's so.... great

I wanted a sort of comic book feel... but without the cheesy factor!

I think I was successful!

So. Clearly I have convinced you to purchase this release solely based on the 'extras' ... I mean sure those big main stamps are the hit of the sets... but, don't forget about those little 'extras'!

Thanks for dropping by and if you're so inclined
leave me a little comment with what you've been up to lately!

Cheers,
N.

Stamping with Shimmer Sprays Challenge in the Moxie Fab World

Another Challenge with Moxie...
Love her blog and her challenges... you should check her out!

This challenge was to use Shimmer Sprays in an unusual way....

So, I painted with them... and it was fantastic.
A water color effect that was easy to do!

I don't have a ton of sprays and all of my sprays seem to be a brown tone.
Guess I'm 'beige' like that :)

Here is my watercolor 'Sepia' toned card:

Just the 'simple' card:

and it's inside... isn't the water color look amazing?

And to think... all you need is this:

*total dt plug*
You can find the stamp set I used here:

You all might remember this layout I did using the sprays in their intended way:

I just love sprays... any way!

Clear Stamp Organization... Metal Die organization.... and more~

CLEAR STAMP ORGANIZATION

Update:

I know that I introduced my clear stamp organization a few months ago...

but, I wanted to update you with the system now that I have 'lived' with it for a while.

I still love it!

It has to be one of the best systems I have created ...
AND...
I have used a wider variety of stamps making use of what I already own!

It also helps me want to put new stamps away the moment I get them... It's been a total success...

I can't recommend this organization more.... and it seems like I've tried it 'all'~

Side Note: if you want to know where to get the envelopes you can look  here ... but beware it's costly on this website... I got them at the office store for around $1 - $1.50 each envelope (like $3.50 ish a pgk )

METAL DIE ORGANIZATION

Ok, I totally can't take total credit for this idea...
but, I can let you see my twist on it and how it works for me.

I used magnetic vent covers (found at your local hardware store)
and attached them to the closet mirror doors in my craft room.

I actually have more dies sitting next my wall ready for me to put up another magnetic sheet.... I should probably do that today :)

Anyways, it's a great system that quickly shows you what you have and makes the dies easy to use and put away.

EXTRA ORGANIZATION:

I used to love my 'Clip it Up' and I still love it... but when I recently moved (and I now share the office with my Dad) I didn't have the space I needed to use it the way it needed to be used. So, I decided to use legal drop files in the office file cabinet to organize my sticker/chipboard/paper pieces...etc...

It's actually working pretty nicely!
So nicely in-fact that I created some drop files for my solid and patterned paper pieces.

Here is why my systems have been working for me...

1. I need to be able to readily see what I have so I can use it and so I don't buy doubles.
2. I want to be able to clean my room as quickly as (or quicker) than it gets messy.

Sounds easy right? I thought so too... but it's seem to have taken me a few years... and a lot of different organization tools to finally figure it out.

I hope that this might be able to help you reorganize and get the most use out of what you already have~!

N.

Paperworks Co. Gift Bag

Here is just a little gift bag I made for my Valentine...

for Moxie Fab World's 'Stamp It! Technique Challenge'

You can find the details : HERE

I encourage you to play along too!

I used Copic Airbrushing on a sheet of heavy plastic to create the blue 'sky' around the owls...
Copic's are awesome markers for lots of different surfaces beyond paper... including plastic~

Here's a close up...

Those little owls are just the cutest!

Stay tuned for some informal instructional video's I am planning to shoot this weekend!

Including, but not limited to... Copic airbrush... L Letterpress... Color pencils...
